Road Safety

Help Us Improve Road Safety

Road safety is a regular and important topic at Parish Council meetings. In order to have productive discussions with Suffolk County Council, we need accurate information about all road accidents that occur within our villages — not just on the A1071.

To support this effort, we’ve set up a dedicated email address:
a1071accidents@gmail.com

If you witness or are aware of an accident, please send a brief email including:

  • Date and time

  • Exact location

  • Number of vehicles involved

  • Any other relevant details

Please don’t assume someone else has reported it — we would much rather receive multiple reports of the same incident than miss one altogether. Your information really can make a difference. Thank you!

Speedwatch Volunteers Needed

Are you concerned about speeding in our villages? You can help make a real impact by joining the Community Speed Watch (CSW) team.

The CSW programme enables volunteers to monitor vehicle speeds using radar equipment. Offending drivers are sent a letter from the police — a direct way to raise awareness and promote safer driving.

Our villages' CSW team is led by Les Cole and currently has 8 active members. The team also manages the illuminated speed warning sign, rotating it between three designated spots in the village and collecting valuable speed data.

Interested in joining the team?
