The Hintlesham and Chattisham Church of England Primary School was built in 1873 after the 1870 Education Act requiring all children to attend school. In recent years, although only a small village school, it has always had high standards and recent OFSTEDS have awarded Outstanding for their achievements. The school always tries to include the community

with the popular Strawberry Fair and pupils attending the hall Lunch for elderly residents who enjoy listening to the children singing whilst eating their meal. Pupils are also encouraged to enter the Garden Show twice a year, exhibiting their skills at handicrafts, cooking or planting.
